Catholic Schools Week Schedule of Events

Catholic Schools Week 2020
Schedule of Events - January 26-February 1

Sunday, January 26: CSW kick-off Mass honoring our parents and parish at St. Michael the Archangel at 8:30 AM. The SMS student choir will be singing. Students, families, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend as we prepare to celebrate all that makes St. Michael’s School special! Join us in creating a strong Defender presence as students and families will be active participants in this Mass. Immediately following Mass, we invite you back to the school for doughnuts and coffee/juice and a chance to shop at the book fair. Hope to see you there!

Monday, January 27: Class Distinction Day! Each class (Preschool-8th) will select a theme to represent themselves (check with your child’s teacher). There will be the judges for the most creative class! Student council will begin a collection for Guardian Angel Outreach. But that’s not all! Join us in the evening for our homemade spaghetti dinner (4:00-7:30 PM), shopping at the book fair (4:00-7:30 PM), and open house (5:00-7:00 PM). This is a great opportunity to see what your child has been learning at St. Michael’s School and also a chance to bring a new family to check us out! You won’t want to miss an opportunity to win a $500 tuition voucher for the 2020-2021 school year!

Tuesday, January 28:  Green and Gold Day! We will be celebrating our fantastic students with an SMS spirit day as well as an afternoon of student trivia and more! Student council will continue collecting items for Guardian Angel Outreach. Finally, registration for NEW students will begin. Spread the good Defender word!
Wednesday, January 29: Pajama Day! Every kid’s dream…to roll out of bed and come to school in their pajamas! Students will gather to view a themed movie accompanied by snacks and good friends. Student council will continue collecting items for Guardian Angel Outreach.
Thursday, January 30: We’re all mixed up! Students and teachers are encouraged to get creative and show off their best mix and match/backwards wardrobe! Student council will continue collecting donations for Guardian Angel Outreach. Each class will also be honoring vocations on this day in their own way.
Friday, January 31: Dress-Up Day! Students may come to school in their “Friday Best” as we celebrate our final school day of CSW. If your child does not want to dress up, he or she may come to school in their uniform. There will be no jeans allowed. We will also be honoring our faculty, staff, and volunteers this day with a special celebration.
We thank you for your continued support of St. Michael the Archangel School. Without parents and families like you, we would not be here! We are lucky to be surrounded by a community that promotes Catholic education and celebrates our faith, knowledge, and service. THANK YOU!!!
